“Change your thoughts and you change your world.”  – Norman Vincent Peal

Hello!  My name is Cryssol Marquez and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California (LMFT) and I have been working in a psychotherapy field since 2013. I have experience working in community mental health and in private practice with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting, teen concerns, life transitions, and a wide range of challenges, including grief/loss, trauma, sexual and physical abuse and crisis as well as adjustment issues.

I tend to draw from the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused approach when in a therapeutic relationship with my clients. This means that I make consistent efforts to meet each client “where they are in their journey” and to serve as a support to each individual who is progressing through their unique process of self-discovery and realization. I also use such modalities as Reality and Choice Therapy.  The approach I strongly believe that helps the therapeutic relationship is understanding this is a collaborative effort by addressing challenges together, understanding that the therapeutic relationship is free from judgment and criticism. Most importantly, to reach the desired outcome set during our initial sessions.

I believe in creating a safe space where difficult and uncomfortable conversations are welcomed.  Acknowledging and working toward resolving issues and collaborating on a treatment plan that is customized to your personal needs and experiences.  It takes courage and strength to reach out for help as this is a vulnerable place for most individuals. I appreciate and feel privileged to be a part of your journey of self-awareness, change and for a better future that you desire.

I look forward to working with you!
