Welcome! My name is Marissa Mcconnachie, I am a Professional Clinical Counselor Intern. I am passionate about helping people grow, change, and ultimately feel their best. I use an empathic and compassionate approach in helping guide clients throughout their therapeutic process. I have 6+ years working with different types of individuals with different needs. I specialize in providing Play Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavioral Modification for children, teens & families, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

By using evidenced-based models in a non-judgmental environment, I help clients identify their strengths through behavioral and emotional changes and work on increasing their self-confidence, we also work to build a stronger relationship between the child/teen and parent(s). Together, we build a foundation through communication and realistic goals & expectations.

I attend Missouri Valley for my Bachelors degree in Science. I received my double masters at Grand Canyon University in Master of Science Psychology with an Emphasis in General Psychology and my masters in Professional Counseling with an emphasis in Health Psychology. I am currently finishing my Doctorate at the Calfornia Southern University in Clinical Psychology specializing in Sports Psychology and Psychological Testing.
