Christa Nettles, PsyD, M.S., M.A.

PSB 94024806

I have always had a passion for helping others, and over the past 20 years, I’ve been fortunate enough to build a career in the mental health field. Throughout my journey, I’ve worked in a variety of settings, including mental health hospitals, emergency group home shelters for adolescents, schools, and clients’ homes. My work has allowed me to connect with individuals from a broad spectrum of ages, ranging from 2 to 65 years old. I’ve worked with youth, adults, parents, school personnel, and have had the privilege of facilitating various therapy groups.
One of the most fulfilling aspects of my career is providing therapy for individuals who were formerly incarcerated and are now re-integrating into the community. I understand how challenging it can be to adjust to life after incarceration, and I find it incredibly rewarding to help these individuals navigate current stressors and work through the challenges they face. I also specialize in male mental health and trauma, a field that I’m deeply passionate about, as it allows me to address a crucial and often overlooked area in mental health.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology from California State University of Long Beach, followed by my master’s degree in psychology from the University of Phoenix. I continued my education at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, where I obtained both a master’s and doctoral degree in forensic psychology. Currently, I am registered as a Psychological Assistant with the California Board of Psychology and am supervised by Dr. Teri Davis, PhD.

My approach to therapy is tailored to meet the unique needs of each client, and I utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychoanalytic Therapy, Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and Person-Centered Therapy. I work with my clients to develop personalized strategies that help them overcome obstacles and achieve lasting mental wellness.

Throughout my career, I have developed a specialty in working with clients facing a variety of challenges, including ADHD, anger management, anxiety, autism, bipolar disorder, depression, domestic violence, family conflict, PTSD, schizophrenia, substance abuse, and trauma. I also have experience with court mandates and oppositional and defiant behaviors.

My work is grounded in a deep belief in the power of growth and healing. As I’ve learned over the years, "Healing is a journey of the mind, body, and spirit, where the unconscious meets the conscious and together, they build a new path forward." – Unknown

I am truly grateful to be a part of this field and to play a role in helping people create meaningful change in their lives.
